Description Technical Specs

Kirinyaga county, at the base of Mt. Kenya, is geographically positioned on the foothills of Mt. Kenya at 17,650 feet, sloping downward to 3,800 feet above sea level. Here, near the town of Kerugoya, along the Kiamutugu-Kamwana Rd., near the Thayu Bar and Restaurant, there is a factory/washing station called Kabingara. About 700 smallholders from the surrounding area bring their cherries to the Kabingara washing station for processing. Kabingara is one of only two belonging to the Karithathi co-op. This cooperative’s small size is a benefit to all, because it allows the co-op to focus on quality, investing revenue, for example, to support the high caliber of production.

The key themes that come through when drinking the Kenya Kabingara is a bright fruitiness, led by cherries and ruby grapefruit. You’ll notice sweet citrus flavors lingering as you savor this cup. We happen to really like this coffee’s distinctive citrus-y features. It sets this coffee apart and beckons you back again and again.
