If you know the story of the Noble Tree, the sole coffee sapling that traveled from the Arabian port of Mocha to Java, across Holland to its final destination in Paris, then you must know of the ship, Le Dromedaire, that brought sprouts from the Noble Tree to Martinique to be planted. It is a story of the heroic efforts of Chevalier Gabriel Mathieu de Clieu, who faced storms at sea with bravery, endured piracy and mutiny aboard Le Dromedaire with fortitude, in his sole mission to successfully plant the revered coffee saplings in Martinique. Coffee then spread from the French colonies into South America and around the world. It is in honor of this ship, Le Dromedaire, that we have named our flagship blend, a sweet, bold and approachable coffee from our very own farm, Fazenda Monte Verde, in the Carmo de Minas region of Brazil. It is a blend of varietals grown in different plots at varying elevations on the farm. We remove the skin from the coffee cherry, leaving the fruity mucilage around the seed, and dry it on our patios. This creates a very sweet, clean and uniform cup, with a big body. We hope you’ll enjoy the chocolate, hazelnut and pear notes that accentuate the cup. Our Dromedaire is a great, everyday, go-to coffee.
