Description

This multiple Cup of Excellence winning farm had a very modest beginning as a very small farm that survived a domestic war. In 1958, Don Luis Augusto decided to name his small, 12 acre coffee farm, Bella Aurora in honor of his mother. His sons Luis Joaquin and David Ariel would help him with the harvest on their vacations. Due to the Sandinista Revolution, production dropped from 80,000lbs to a mere 16,000lbs before Luis Joaquin had to abandon the farm. When the revolution was over in 1979, he started production again. It would take 13 years before Bella Aurora became productive and successful. Due to his success, Luis Joaquin began buying more land around the farm until he had a total of 82 acres in 1992. His dedication to producing the best coffee possible has definitely paid off, and it shows in the cup.

Nicaragua Bella Aurora is a fully washed coffee that is naturally depulped without water, then fermented in fermentation tanks for approximately 14 to 18 hours. Once it gets washed, it is dried on patios for 7 days. No pesticides are used in growing this coffee and weeds are controlled with machete.
