Description
It comes as no surprise that Honduras is the largest producer of coffee in Central America at just under 6 million bags of coffee per year. It’s soil, climate, and conditions, similar to that of Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, are great for growing coffee. It is only recently that we have started to see excellent coffees coming from Honduras. The Honduran soil suits coffee crops well, but the rain can prove a challenge for drying the beans.
La Flor is located in Las Flores, Santa Barabara and owned by Florencia Paz. After her husband, Amado, passed away, the farm was divided amongst the family members who decided to process the coffee separately rather than as one farm. Today, Florencia’s sons work her portion of the farm, delivering the quality you taste in the cup.
La Flor, which translates to the flower, is reflected in the floral notes of this coffee, accented with lemon and clove. The body is light and creamy with a bright citric acidity.
